MINI and BMW share the same engineering DNA — and the same factory diagnostic platform. RhineWest has serviced MINI Cooper models alongside BMW since the brand's North American debut, using the same ISTA dealer software, programming tools, and technical expertise that make us San Antonio's foremost independent European specialist.
Factory-level ISTA software reads every module in your BMW the way BMW intended — not just engine codes. We diagnose complex, multi-system faults that generic scanners miss entirely.
ECU flashing, DME coding, CAS synchronization, FEM/BDC programming, and adaptation resets after major repairs. We program every control unit in every BMW generation.
N20, N52, N54, N55, N63, S55, B46, B48, B58 — we know every BMW engine platform. Timing chain service, VANOS repair, valve cover gaskets, oil leaks, and full rebuilds.
BMW Inspection I & II, oil service, microfilter, spark plugs, brake fluid flush, DSC service, and all fluids to OEM spec. We reset CBS service indicators properly.
BMW cooling systems are notorious for failure at high mileage. We replace water pumps, thermostats, expansion tanks, hoses, and radiators before they leave you stranded.
Control arms, ball joints, thrust arms, air suspension components, EDDC shocks, and 4-wheel alignments. We keep your BMW handling the way it was engineered to.
ZF 8-speed fluid service, DCT clutch adaptation, SMG actuator repair, manual transmission rebuilds, and transfer case service on xDrive models.
Considering a used BMW? Our 50-point BMW-specific inspection reveals the real condition of the vehicle before you commit — including hidden rust, oil leaks, and deferred maintenance.
OEM-spec brake pads and rotors, brake fluid flush, caliper rebuilds, and CBS brake wear indicator resets. We don't cut corners on safety-critical systems.
From the Blog
VANOS sludge, cooked turbo lines, bearing wear — our technicians explain what actually happens when oil goes too long, and the interval we actually recommend.
The N20 and N26 four-cylinder engines are known for premature timing chain wear. Symptoms include rattling on cold start and rough running. Left unaddressed, it can cause catastrophic engine failure.
BMW's electric water pump (common on N52, N54, N55) has a known failure rate. We recommend proactive replacement at 80,000 miles before it fails and causes overheating.
VANOS (variable valve timing) solenoid failure causes rough idle, power loss, and P0010/P0011 fault codes. Common on N52 and N54 engines. Often misdiagnosed by shops without BMW-specific tooling.
xDrive models can develop transfer case issues that trigger drivetrain errors and 4WD disengagement. Requires BMW-specific programming after service — not a generic repair.
The HPFP on turbocharged BMW engines is a known failure point causing hesitation, misfires, and rough running. We carry OEM-spec replacements and properly code the new unit.
Newer BMWs rely on the FEM or BDC for door locks, windows, lighting, and more. Module failures require dealer-level programming that most shops simply cannot perform.
We've worked on more BMWs in San Antonio than any other independent shop — across every generation from the E30 to the G-series.
ISTA, ISTA+, E-Sys, BimmerCode Pro, and BMW-specific hardware. Same tools the dealer uses.
We don't outsource coding work. Every programming task is done in-house by technicians who understand BMW architecture.
All repairs come with extended Premier1 Auto Care warranty coverage for your peace of mind.
